Description of my work:

Her current work is based on images taken from small parts of antique film footage.

Laurine always had an interest in people depicted in old film. A sense of curiosity about who these people were and what lives they have had.
Completely anonymous, if not for the little marks these images make on history. Somehow they managed to surpass the tooth of time.

Through multiple media, Laurine is now exploring ways to recontextualize the lives of these people. Depicting them in a modern and graphic way to once again give longevity to their seemingly anonymous existence.

Doctor Sibe Doosje has worked as an university lecturer at the department of Clinical and Health Psychology of Utrecht University (The Netherlands) since 1990. He combined his fatherhood of two wonderful children with a passion and interest in humour, especially its assessment and health-relatedness.

In October of 2010 he got his doctorate in psychology, and is starting a company called 'Humour Lab'.

The project Wisebits is a collaboration with RVU educative network and the University of Leiden. Wisebits is a tv program about issues on philosophy and science which is made for young students. There will be made 200 animations for this tv program by various artists, one of the artists is Laurine Brugman.

Big Bang!
Report about earth and the evolution of mankind.
Film makers show there own vision about an event in history.
The video's from the artists who worked on the project will be shown on the 21st of November from 3 till 6 pm in filmtheater in Hilversum, Holland.
My video is about Timmie Jean Lindsey who was the first woman who got breast implants. Her doctor made a deal with her in 1962. He would operate her on her big ears, if he could give her silicone implants.

Format GAVA is a co-production with design studio Frank & Lisa, Noorderzon Festival and The Audiovisual Archive in Groningen (NL).
Format GAVA will give young artists the opportunity to create a new performance based on audiovisual heritage material. Format GAVA challenges these artists to tell new stories with the use of old video material and translate historical images to contemporary visuals. Each day of the festival you are very welcome to visit the Muziekkoepel to watch a performance, which you can listen to by using wireless headphones.

The Festival consists of two parts: an online competition and a film-packed Festival day on 17 April. The Festival will be held in Images Film Theatre in Groningen.

The Dutch TT (Tourist Trophy) is a motorcycling event, traditionally held on the last Saturday of June at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands, as part of the MotoGP World Championship. It has a capacity of 100,000 spectators, including 60,000 seats. It has also become a venue for concerts as heavy metal legends Iron Maiden performed at the circuit in August 2008.
A large group of Dutch poets worked on an anthology about this famous motorcycling event.

Nou en Herkauw is an interactive VeeJay collective that works at parties and events.

The people that are involved are VJ’s, illustrators and designers from Groningen (The Netherlands).

When the VJ’s start the night, they have no footage. All they have is video camera’s, a pile of magazines and newspapers, and paint and pencils.

The VJ’s make the footage live by filming, collaging, drawing, sketching, writing or painting.

The people who are visiting the party can also help us make footage by

joining us or making pictures or videos with their mobile phone.

They can send their footage so the VJ’s can use it to VJ with.

Poem: Reitdiep/Eridanus

Reitdiep, het einde
van de Eridanus-rivier vandaag. De Achernar
ligt hier aan de loswal voor de nacht.
Achter het roer drijft nog het spoor
van opgewoelde broze bellen,
als glazen constellaties over het water
geblazen tot sterrenbeelden in het zog.
Zij weten ons te vertellen:
"U bevindt zich in het laatste huis,
deze boot zal nog danig veranderen."
De waterwolf van Lammerburen blaast
stoom af, slaat een stoom geladen vonken
naar de mast.
We houden ons bij dit gedonder vast aan
Schipperbitter - ruig en ongewis, zoals
ook de grimmige strijd met wind en water is.
En langzaam springen een voor een de bellen
buiten stuk, en rinkelen binnen nu de glazen.
